Classic Mini Pancakes…And a GIF!

IMG_7688_a

Oh yeah, punk?! Well, my recipe’s better than your recipe!

I’m sure at this point in your life pancakes are not anything special, and I understand that. But everyone’s got a different recipe for them and each one has different measurements and wait times and fancy ingredients like whole wheat organic vanilla beet sugar blessed by a lamb with vegan wool.

And you know that at Mamaland Island ain’t nobody got time for dat.

Melt-in-Your-Mouth Moroccan Sand Cookies

IMG_7541_a

Do you like cookies? Do you like using common household ingredients? Do you like minimal work for maximum desserts? Well, listen up.

Everything you need to make these cookies (yes, all of the 4 ingredients) is probably in your house right at this very moment. “Please, make these cookies,” the ingredients scream, “they’re so delicious. I want to be useful!”

These cookies take all of 20 minutes start-to-mouth to make, and they’re crumbly (like sand, get it?) and perfectly nutty. And anyway, I think it’s safe to say that the less work involved, the better, no?

Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls + A Trick to Homemade Buttermilk

I doubt there is any other non-chocolate dessert I love more than cinnamon rolls. A few years ago I also would have told you that if something isn’t chocolate, then it shouldn’t be sweet. Thankfully, I have mostly passed this hurdle, as you can see by recipes such as my Lazy Fruit Shortbread.

IMG_4754a

There’s actually no anise in this recipe. I just thought they looked pretty.

What? I’ve promised you a trick to homemade buttermilk, you say? But of course. I never buy buttermilk because of this trick, just FYI. Let’s all put the buttermilk industry out of business, shall we?

Feta-Stuffed Rosemary Rolls

IMG_4186c

This all started when I was just innocently looking for a simple recipe for dinner rolls. Nothing too special, I just wanted to make some bread. Eventually, I found the 30 Minute Dinner Rolls recipe on Six Sisters’ Stuff.

Come on, 30 minutes, and you’re not gonna try that? Who hasn’t got 30 minutes for some homemade bread?

Focaccia Flatbread

This isn’t really a focaccia. It’s sort of like a giant cracker. And I mean that in the best way possible.

IMG_3651b

It’s not a pizza either, so I guess it’s like a flatbread? A focaccia flatbread? I think so, because all it’s got on top is olive oil, coarse salt, and rosemary.

IMG_3729a

See?

Simple and clean. And you’ll be happy to hear that from start to finish the whole process was about 20 minutes. 20!

Ridiculously Simple: Artichoke Pizza

IMG_3220

Remember that dough from yesterday? I know it was a long time ago, but think hard. That’s the dough my grandma makes, which is very basic and made up of only 5 ingredients. For these reasons she has affectionately nicknamed it “Batzek Klum“, which translates from Hebrew into “Nothing Dough”. You could also call it “Heidi Klum Dough”. Up to you.

Savory Cheese Spiral

Every now and again, dinner gets boring.  That’s when you make a savory pastry.

IMG_2979a

“Why in the name of all that is chocolate would I make a savory pastry?” you ask. That is a good question. The answer? Just ’cause. Sometimes you need to break the sweetness. Try not to gasp.

IMG_2958

This all came about when I was browsing the interwebs, and by interwebs I mean Pinterest.

Use Up Old Cake: Quick Chocolate Balls

…you never knew you needed this.

IMG_2494_color

Yes, everyone. Chocolate in yet another compact form. Also, quick. It’s sort of like a fast version of a cake pop. Minus the frosting. And the baking. And the lollipop stick. Okay, forget that.

IMG_2482

It’s a really flexible recipe, and it can get rid of the dry cake you made last week. Because of this flexibility, there really isn’t anything with actual measurements.

Oznei Haman = Haman’s Ears. Literally.

If ever the day comes, it’ll probably be difficult to prove I’m not a cannibal after this post. After all, “Haman’s Ears”? But don’t freak out just yet. That’s not a good enough reason to freak out.

IMG_2385

Stop and smell the flowers. And the hamantaschen.

Wait until you see the amazingness that is Oznei Haman/Hamantaschen, and then proceed to freak out. I’ll wait.
